CRIBCO Forest Products Ltd.

Rooted in Indigenous leadership, guided by sustainable forestry

CRIBCO Forest Products holds three tenures: a Non-Replicable Forest Licence, Woodlot Licence, and First Nations Woodland Licence.

Two are long-term, area-based tenures; the third is volume-based. Together, they allow an annual cut of nearly 21,000 cubic metres across areas from Pye Lake, north of Campbell River, to Heydon Bay, Stafford Lake, Apple River, and the head of Loughborough Inlet.

Five appointed directors—four Wei Wai Kum members—oversee CRIBCO Forest Products and safeguard the shareholders’ interests. Capacity Forest Management manages the tenures and daily operations under the Board’s direction and reports to it regularly.

Issued in June 2015 as the province’s third First Nations Woodland Licence, this long- term, area-based tenure recognizes First Nations’ interests in land, resources, traditional practices, and non-timber forest products. It expands their role in
stewardship and land-use management while improving access to investment and financing.
